1966 Rowntree’s Fruit Gums Confectioners Battery Powered Advertising Showcard

An incredibly rare, 1966 Rowntree’s Fruit Gums advertising showcard/ sign. A freestanding chalkboard/ easel style sign, made from stiff cardboard & mounted onto a wooden frame.

This advertising board would have once been a focal point within a confectioners. Rare & unique, this sign was battery powered, when powered on the teacher on the front of the sign would sway from side to side as would the teachers stick, emphasising the importance of not forgetting to purchase your fruit gums!

A stunning piece of advertising is adorned with 7 dummy tubes of fruit gums, all present & each still retains the original paper “dummy” label attached to the side of each tube.

The original paper label containing setup instructions for the confectioner remains present & is dated March 1966.

All wiring, along with the mechanical mechanism remains intact & moves freely, however we have not connected battery power to this item & thus it remains uncheck.
