A beautiful late Victorian cut crystal biscuit barrel, dating to around circa 1895–1905.
The barrel is crafted from heavily cut lead crystal, featuring a classic hobnail and diamond pattern which creates wonderful sparkle as the light catches the glass. The cutting is deep and crisp, demonstrating the high quality typical of British crystal from the turn of the 20th century.
The mount is stamped; D&A with globe trademark, EBNS (Electroplated Britannia Nickel Silver), Pattern number 8417
This identifies the mount as the work of Daniel & Arter, a respected British firm producing quality electroplated tableware during the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
The crisp cutting reflects the influence of the renowned glassmaking traditions of Stourbridge, the historic centre of British crystal production.
Condition; Excellent antique condition. The crystal is clear with crisp cutting and no cracks. Original silver-plated mount with light age-related wear.
