A superb and increasingly sought-after early to mid 20th century galvanised railway milk churn, originating from Wainfleet in Lincolnshire and retaining wonderful authentic industrial character throughout.

Stamped “B.R(E)” for British Railways Eastern Region, this handsome churn also survives with its original “WAINFLEET” location plaque still intact to the front, a fantastic surviving detail that firmly anchors the piece within Britain’s agricultural and railway heritage. Milk churns bearing identifiable railway markings and original destination plaques have become particularly desirable amongst collectors and interior stylists alike.

Constructed from heavy gauge galvanised steel with large loop carry handles, the churn displays decades of honest wear, oxidation and weathering, creating the richly textured patina so prized in decorative country house and industrial interiors.
