Roulette Style Parlour Game – c.1920’s/ 30’s
£48.00
A charming and increasingly scarce example of the British novelty gambling game “Can Mo Yes No” produced by Gramogames during the early/ mid-20th century.
Designed as a light-hearted roulette style betting game for home entertainment, the set features a colourful printed betting board with traditional roulette number layout including red and black numbers 1–36, odd and even bets, and column wagering. The outcome is determined by spinning the original illustrated wheel, decorated with humorous pictorial segments including racehorses, taxis, airport scenes and other novelty outcomes typical of British parlour games of the period.
Produced in lithographed card and supplied with its original Gramogames sleeve, examples surviving with the original packaging are increasingly difficult to find.
These small tabletop gambling games were popular in Britain between the 1920s and 1950s, often played at family gatherings or in pubs as a light-hearted alternative to casino games.
