A handsome and authentic Edwardian wall mirror dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1910.


The mirror retains its original three horizontal wooden backboards, behind which is a neatly applied fragment of period newspaper. The visible financial column references early British railway investment, including Chinese Central Railways Limited, a company active during the height of late Victorian and Edwardian overseas railway speculation.


The careful application and undisturbed construction strongly suggest the paper was inserted during original manufacture, providing supporting evidence for an Edwardian dating.
