A handsome antique copper fireplace fender, of fixed rectangular form, crafted in a richly patinated hammered copper finish.

This is a classic hearth curb design, intended to frame the fireplace opening while providing both a decorative and practical boundary. The hand-worked surface gives it a wonderfully tactile quality, with irregular hammer marks catching the light and adding depth to the warm copper tones.

Unlike extending examples, this piece is a fixed structure, offering a solid, grounded presence, ideal for period interiors or adding character to a more modern setting.

The proportions and simplicity of form lean toward late Victorian to early 20th century, though pieces like this remained popular well into the interwar period.

Condition; Good overall antique condition. Surface wear, knocks and marks consistent with age. Natural variation and patina across the copper. Structurally solid and stable.
