An arts and crafts period copper hot water jug made by Joseph Sankey and Sons, adorned by a distinctive Lizard Skin finish.
Joseph Sankey was born in Bilston, Staffordshire, England in 1827 and following his father’s death he ran the company on his own from 1861. In 1871, Joseph’s eldest son John William Sankey joined the firm.
The jug is in excellent condition with minor wear to extremities. The Joseph Sankey and Son, Bilston (JS&SB) makers mark is stamped on the bottom.
