A charming mid-century mother of pearl mosaic compact, later converted into a unique miniature folding photo album.

The exterior is beautifully decorated with small square panels of genuine mother of pearl, arranged in a checkerboard pattern and displaying a rich iridescence with soft pink and green tones that shift in the light.

Originally a powder compact dating to the 1940s/ 1950s, the interior has been thoughtfully adapted with a concertina-style canvas photo holder, transforming the piece into a personal keepsake album. A period photograph remains inside.

Condition; Good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. Minor surface wear to the shell. There is a small chip/ loss to one mother of pearl tile at the bottom left corner, as shown. Interior shows signs of age and use, with wear to the canvas inserts. Closes securely and displays well.
