A staple of childhood nostalgia for many, a vintage Mobo “Prairie King” pressed-steel horse, made in England by D. Sebel & Co. Ltd.

Mobo Toys were produced by D. Sebel & Co. in Erith, Kent, England, from 1947 to 1972.

The “Prairie King” model is a pressed-steel rocking horse, often featuring a red saddle and gold-colored harness molded into the metal body. This would have once stood on a sprung frame, allowing for a rocking and bouncing motion.

Mobo toys, especially the “Prairie King” and

“Bronco” models, are iconic examples of postwar British toy manufacturing and a fabulous piece of nostalgia.
