Vintage Castrol Motor Oil / Grease Tin Wooden Crate c.1970s – Original Petroliana


A superb original vintage wooden shipping crate by Castrol, dating to the late 1960s/ 1970s and used for the transport of workshop lubricants, most likely LM grease tins.


Constructed from solid timber with metal reinforced corners, the crate retains its original green Castrol stencilling along with period shipping instructions reading “This Side Up, Handle With Care, Use No Hooks.” The side is marked “24”, indicating its original use for storing and transporting 24 tins.


A particularly nice feature is the presence of original internal straw packing, rarely surviving and adding authenticity and display appeal.


Condition; Good original condition with expected age-related wear, scuffs and marks from use. Structurally solid with strong branding throughout. Untouched patina.
