Vintage Cast Metal Cake/ Jelly Mould – Unusual Six-Section Form

An unusual and wonderfully tactile vintage cast metal cake/ jelly mould, approximately 6½” wide × 4” high, complete with its original metal hanging loop.

The mould has a striking six-lobed geometric form, with six raised sections surrounding a central aperture, creating an interesting decorative shape when viewed from either side. The reverse retains the corresponding recessed mould sections and central projecting boss.

The piece has a lovely dark aged patina and retains minor pinholes and imperfections within the casting, typical of its method of manufacture and adding to its character.

Whether used as originally intended or simply displayed as an unusual piece of vintage kitchenalia, it makes an appealing decorative object for a country kitchen, pantry or eclectic interior.
