Vintage British Boarding School Fire Notice c.1940s - 1960s
A wonderfully evocative piece of British institutional history, this original vintage fire notice is printed in bold red and black lettering on aged cream card.
Believed to originate from a boys’ boarding school or similar residential institution, the instructions offer a fascinating glimpse into dormitory life, from waking neighbouring boys and assembling in silence to the responsibilities of the appointed ‘Dormitory Captains’.
A charmingly unusual survivor, full of character and social history, with beautifully aged patina and striking period typography.
Measuring 11” × 8¼”, presented in original vintage condition with expected age-related wear.
