Victorian Silver Chatelaine Needle Case, Arrow Form, Complete with Fittings – c.19th Century
£385.00
An exceptional Victorian silver chatelaine needle case, finely modelled in the form of an arrow and retaining its original suspension fittings.
This elegant and highly decorative piece is designed as a stylised arrow, the shaft forming a cylindrical needle holder which unscrews to reveal its original function. The piece is complete with its hanging loop and secondary ornate clasp, intended for attachment to a chatelaine or waist belt.
Material; Silver (unmarked but consistent with period examples)
Condition; Excellent antique condition overall. No damage, distortion, or losses to the main body. Needle case opens and closes correctly.
Please note: one link within the suspension chain is missing and has been temporarily secured with string. This is visible on close inspection and would be a straightforward repair if desired.
A well-preserved and highly displayable example, measuring approximately 5”.
