A charming and authentic hand-carved oak ashtray by the celebrated Yorkshire craftsman Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson of Kilburn.

Crafted from solid English oak, the ashtray displays the distinctive adzed finish synonymous with the Mouseman workshop and is surmounted by the iconic carved mouse, executed with crisp detail and excellent character.

This example has been sympathetically cleaned to remove decades of accumulated surface residue whilst intentionally preserving the honest signs of age and use. Gentle heat marking and historic staining remain within the bowl and around the cigarette rests, serving as a reminder of the piece’s original purpose and adding to its authentic period character.

Structurally sound with no cracks or repairs observed. Sympathetically cleaned and presented. Historic burn marks and age-related staining remain within the bowl, together with light wear commensurate with age and use, all contributing to the piece’s genuine character.
