October 1959 Norwich v Swindon Speedway Magazine Program
An original October 1959 dated Norwich Speedway Magazine Program. Superb graphics and makes for an interesting read for petrol heads.
Norwich Speedway was located at The Firs Stadium in Hellesdon, Norwich. It opened in the early 1930s and became a very popular spectator sport, particularly in the post-war years, attracting crowds of up to 30,000.
The speedway team that raced at The Firs was known as the Norwich Stars. They were a successful team, winning the National League Division 2 championship in 1950 and 1951, and moving up to Division One in 1952.
The Firs Stadium, and therefore Norwich Speedway, closed in October 1964, with the last meeting held on October 31, 1964.
