Edwardian Oxblood Leather Full & Half Sovereign Coin Purse

A particularly charming Edwardian full and half sovereign coin purse, housed within a rich oxblood red leather case and incorporating an integral loop for attachment to an Albert chain.

The compact hinged case opens to reveal two individual circular metal coin compartments, designed specifically to accommodate a full sovereign and half sovereign. Each compartment has its own hinged cover with concentric textured detailing.

The purse is fitted with a small loop to the top edge, allowing it to be suspended from an Albert chain, making this a wonderful example of the practical and highly personal accessories carried by gentlemen during the Edwardian period.

Condition: Good antique condition commensurate with age and use. The leather retains excellent colour and patina, with some expected signs of age and handling. The metal fittings have surface wear and age-related patination. Please study photographs carefully.
