Antique Victorian Oak School Desk with Adjustable Sliding Top & Original Inkwell – Circa 1890–1910

A characterful and increasingly sought-after late Victorian oak school desk, complete with its original integrated seat and adjustable sliding desktop.

Constructed in solid oak and dating to around circa 1890–1910, the desk features a traditional sloping top which slides forwards and backwards, allowing it to be adjusted for different users, a practical innovation used in British classrooms of the period.

To the top sits a brass sliding inkwell cover, opening to reveal the original ceramic ink pot, stamped E.S.A London, a known supplier of school fittings and writing equipment of the time. It is increasingly rare to find examples retaining both the original lid and liner.

Good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with use. Structurally sound and complete.
