Antique Nailsea Glass Witch Ball with White Trailed Decoration

Dating to around 1850, this beautifully proportioned witch ball measures approximately 20cm (8 inches) in diameter and features elegant white trailed ornament spiralling around the clear blown glass body. The original iron suspension collar, brass chain and hanging hook remain intact, making it an increasingly scarce complete example.

This example benefits from excellent provenance, having been removed from Sun Court, Hadleigh, and later forming part of the estate of respected King’s Road antiques dealer David Tron.

The glass displays the attractive irregularities expected of hand-blown nineteenth-century production, while the delicate white trailed decoration is particularly well executed.

Condition; Good antique condition overall, commensurate with age. Minor surface wear and light inclusions consistent with hand-blown Victorian glass.
