A Vintage Metal Hand Painted London Fire Bucket

An original metal fire bucket, rich with historical character and later embellished with beautifully executed period-style hand-painted cyphers.

One side features the wording “London Fire” accompanied by an ornate “VR” cypher, hand shadow-painted with careful attention to curvature, depth and serif detail. The opposing side showcases an equally decorative hand-painted scrollwork motif incorporating the words “Water Bucket”, executed in the same stylised period manner.

The bucket’s early metalwork, complete with shaped handle, honest age, and tactile surface texture, speaks to its original role, while the later repainting adds a layer of folk-art charm.

Condition: Original period bucket with expected age-related wear to the metalwork and a later repaint applied with a steady, decorative hand. Minor imperfections and light surface patina are present, all stable and consistent with age and use.
