A Late 19th Century Enamelled Silver Coin Brooch, Formed From A Victorian Florin

The piece features the distinctive heraldic reverse design associated with Queen Victoria’s 1887 Jubilee coinage, beautifully enhanced with rich coloured enamelling. The detailing remains crisp, with strong blues, reds and gilt highlights bringing the shield and national emblems to life.

The brooch retains a classic period C-clasp fitting to the reverse, indicative of a late Victorian conversion, transforming a circulating coin into a decorative and wearable piece of folk art.

A slightly smaller and more delicate example than similar pieces, making it particularly wearable while still retaining strong visual impact.

Condition; Very good antique condition overall. The enamel remains vibrant with only light, age-related wear.

The pin and C-clasp are intact and functional.

General light surface wear consistent with age and conversion from coin to brooch.

Diameter approximately 1.25 inches.
