A beautifully executed and wonderfully atmospheric hand-embroidered textile picture, dating from the 1930s.


Rich in character and individual craftsmanship, the scene is worked in a sophisticated palette of earthy sage greens, soft blues, warm ochres, and muted coral reds. The composition carries strong folk art charm blended with early 20th-century illustrative design influences.


The quality of the needlework is superb throughout; dense, directional stitching has been intentionally utilised to build contour, depth, and a sense of movement in the sky and stone.


It is presented within its original, well-figured maple/walnut-toned hardwood frame and retains its original brass hanging ring, leaving it completely untouched and beautifully.
