A Collection Of 7 Traditional Indian Wooden Figurines Known As Kondapalli Toys
These lightweight, brightly painted figures are handcrafted in Kondapalli, a village in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Kondapalli toys often depict scenes and figures from Indian village life, including farmers, herdsmen, and other tradesmen, as well as mythological figures and deities.
They are a significant part of Indian cultural heritage and are traditionally displayed during festivals like Sankranti and Navratri as part of “Bommala Koluvu” (arrangement of dolls).
These toys are typically made from a soft wood known as “Tella Poniki” or, in some cases, papier-mâché or balsa wood.
Hand painted & hand carved, in overall good condition with natural losses to extremities.
