1931 Welsh Co-operative Society Illuminated Presentation Poster/ Memorial Address

An exceptionally decorative and highly unusual 1931 Welsh presentation poster or commemorative illuminated address, retaining its original photographs, vivid hand-coloured detailing and substantial ebonised oak frame with glazed front.

Executed in the traditional illuminated manuscript style, this striking piece commemorates members of a Welsh co-operative society or chapel community, richly adorned with red and white floral motifs, Celtic inspired detailing and beautifully stylised Welsh calligraphy throughout.

The colours remain remarkably vibrant for age, particularly the reds, greens and cobalt blues, with only minor age related wear and small losses visible to the extremities of the paper. Overall presented in very good antique condition.
