1863 First Edition The Originals From ‘Punch’ Mr. John Leech’s Sketches In Oil (Soft Cover)


Publisher’s original stiff light grey printed card wraps, black lettering to the upper panel. Full-page or two per page monochrome illustrations throughout with caption beneath, priced two shillings and sixpence to the front cover.


Mr. John Leech, a Victorian artist and cartoonist known for his work in Punch magazine. Sketches in oil that were exhibited at the Egyptian Hall in Piccadilly, London.


Some gatherings of stitching to the spine are secure, however, other stitches are missing leaving the page sections slightly open, card covering down the spine is mostly missing, foxing to some of the pages, but the paper is predominantly clean and white.
